The lighting project for Villa Mostaccini, developed in collaboration with architect Micol Maiga, was born from the need to accompany a refined and respectful restyling intervention—one capable of creating a dialogue between the villa's strong historical identity and a more modern, essential architectural language.
In this context, light took on a central role—not merely as a functional element, but as an active compositional tool able to connect the two souls of the project—the original and the contemporary— in a coherent and harmonious way.
The intervention involved the integration of large custom lighting fixtures, designed and crafted to enhance the materiality and historical details of the most representative spaces, bringing elegance, character, and uniqueness. At the same time, we developed a modern and technical lighting system, conceived to ensure visual comfort, efficiency, and aesthetic cleanliness in the areas marked by more contemporary architectural interventions.
This dual nature of the lighting—both decorative and technical, bespoke and integrated—is reflected throughout the villa's interiors, which become the setting of a layered visual narrative, where every light source is designed to respect and amplify the architecture's identity.
Special attention was given to the study of color temperature, directionality, and light intensity, in order to achieve warm, welcoming, and consistent atmospheres in every room—from living spaces to transitional areas, from the kitchen to the sleeping quarters.
The synergy with architect Micol Maiga was fundamental to the success of the project. Continuous dialogue and a shared vision allowed us to develop a lighting language that goes beyond illumination, becoming an integral part of both the architectural design and the living experience.
