PROJECT OBJECTIVES
Credis:
Nicola GuerrazSecret Light is one of the first concrete expressions of the vision behind the Art Collection by LuceControCorrente: a collection of luminous works born from the meeting of contemporary art and bespoke lighting design.
The main goal is to go beyond the traditional boundaries of lighting, transforming light into an extension of the artwork itself. No longer mere functional or decorative elements, but luminous sculptures that can evoke emotion, engage with their surroundings, and speak to the space they inhabit.
In the specific case of Secret Light, the project was driven by the desire to enhance the artistic gesture without compromising its authenticity—allowing light to become a partner, not a superstructure. The work maintains its original value while gaining a new dimension: a unique and functional design object.
The design process was guided by a concept of balance: between aesthetics and technique, between artistic vision and artisanal precision, between light and material. The result is a product with a strong identity, a striking presence, and expressive consistency—created for interiors that seek uniqueness and meaning.

CONTEXT AND DEVELOPMENT STAGES
The project was born from a process of research, dialogue, and collaboration with Guerraz, a Roman artist known for his expressive language rich in material, signs, and symbolism. It was the artist himself who entrusted one of his works to LuceControCorrente, so it could “become light” without losing its expressive strength. A gesture of trust and shared vision that laid the foundations for a deep synergy between the worlds of art and lighting design.
The starting point was a mutual desire to transform an existing artwork into a luminous object— preserving its essence while enhancing its narrative power through light. This is where LuceControCorrente stepped in: translating a two-dimensional artistic gesture into a three-dimensional luminous experience, capable of magnifying every detail and amplifying the artist’s message through carefully selected materials and technologies.
The design process unfolded in several key phases:
- Interpretation of the original artwork: studying the visual language and materials used by the artist in order to translate them into a lighting concept.
- Lighting body design: developing a structure consistent with the aesthetics of the artwork, capable of hosting light sources without compromising formal balance.
- Material selection: Pyrex glass for the candle (clear or satin opaline), Murano glass for decorative elements, a brass body coated with natural resins and finished with a protective vitrifying resin. Noble materials that reinforce the material identity of the project.
- Dual light source:the uniqueness of Secret Light lies in its double illumination: an LED positioned at the base of each arm offers refined, controlled light, while a live flame lights the upper candle—creating a full sensory experience.
- Artisanal production: each piece is handcrafted, signed and numbered by Guerraz himself— making every lamp a unique, one-of-a-kind object that remains faithful to the original artistic vision.
